In Europe and different other parts in the world, Chess is known as the most important and popular board game.
The board comprises 64 squares and there are 16 white and 16 black playing pieces. Eight pawns form the front facing the opponents and can take pieces diagonally. The two Rooks (or “Castles”) at either end of the second row can only attack vertically and horizontally. The two Knights can leap 3 squares in the shape of an “L”. The two Bishops can only move diagonally. The Queen is the strongest piece and can attack without restriction in terms of distance vertically, horizontally and diagonally. If you can get the King into checkmate you’ll win the game.
