Sudoku is a Match 3 game and is similar to latin quads. The earliest forerunners of Sudoku were the latin quads (“carré latin”) of the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler (1707-1783).
Sudoku is played as a duel. The playing field consists of 9 blocks, each containing 9 boxes. At the start of the game a few of the boxes contain numbers. It is your job to fill the boxes with numbers while ensuring that the numbers 1 to 9 only appear once per row and block. The aim of the game is to completely fill the blocks in as few moves as possible.
