Compete against the dealer in Grand Blackjack and show how intuitive and lucky you are.
In Blackjack you play against a Dealer. Your goal with Grand Blackjack is to get a hand worth 21 points. You win if you score higher than the dealer. But if you go bust and exceed the magic 21 your stakes go to the bank! The Dealer has no real choice in Blackjack but has to follow clearly defined Backjack rules (Dealer must stand on all 17’s).
The player plays on one bet position. There is an area on the table, where the stakes can be placed. Also, there is a minimum and maximum bet. As soon as the stakes have been placed, the cards are dealt. Players receive two cards. The dealer also receives two cards, one of which is hidden. If the open card is a 10, the dealer checks whether she has a Blackjack immediately after dealing. If that is the case, the second card is revealed and the round comes to an end. If the first card is an Ace, an insurance round is played. This means that the player is asked whether he/she wishes to be insured against a Blackjack. Once this has been done, the dealer checks if there is a Blackjack. If this is the case, the second card is revealed and the round comes to an end. Even money bet is a side bet offered to a player that has already Blackjack and the dealer has an Ace as a face-up card. Just as in regular Insurance case, Even Money protects the player from dealer’s Blackjack. Even Money pays 1 to 1.
Each card is worth its face value. Picture cards are worth 10 points and the Aces are worth either 1 or 11 points. The value of the hand is the total value of all the individual cards. If a player has 21 points with just two cards, it is called a ‘Blackjack’, which is worth more than a 21-point hand with more than two cards.
The winnings of the player’s hand(s) (after split) is calculated after the dealing phase. If the value of the hand is above 21 points, then it is bust and it automatically loses, irrespective of the dealer’s cards. If the hand of the player is 21 or below and the dealer busts, then the player wins. If the dealer has Blackjack and the player doesn’t, the dealer wins. The player can, however, win the Blackjack insurance, if he/she paid for it in advance. This is paid at a ratio of 2:1. If the player has Blackjack and the dealer doesn’t, the player wins the stake at a ratio of 3:2. No Blackjack is possible with a split hand. A split 2-card hand with 21 points wins at 1:1, but the player loses if the dealer has Blackjack. If there are no Blackjacks, the player always wins when his/her hand is higher than the dealer’s hand. If the hands are of equal value, this is called a ‘tie’ and the stake is refunded.
The Perfect Pair bet is separated from the normal wager in a bet box next to the normal wager. You need to place the normal wager in order to initiate side betting. The Perfect Pairs bet needs to be placed in the side bet box.
The Perfect Pairs side bet pays if the player’s first two cards are a pair. Thereafter, the main game of Blackjack continues on as normal.
